You see this beautiful little baby girl? Her name is Mila. She's my niece. She's Nine months tomorrow. And she suffers from an illness named Osteogenesis imperfecta, better known as brittle bone desease.
We love her and obviously want her to have the best quality of life but will treat her no different just be a little bit more safer with our little darling... She is receiving treatment every week by going to a special swimming pool that helps the bones in her body.
This post is not for sympathy this post is not to get money for Mila this post is not to get money for me or my family. This post is to help donate towards the brittle bone society. My brother and sister in law can pay for treatment for our darling. But so many family's can't. So many family's like my own need support and help. That's where these guys step in. They help 20 thousand family's in the United Kingdom, emotionally, possibly financially too. They help give seminars and help raise awareness of the condition. So what I'm asking from you guys is to please consider donating, anything will be appreciated. It would mean a lot to me and my family.
Mila's Story, told by her mother:
"At our 20 week scan we were told our baby wasn't measuring properly and I had to get growth scans every 2 weeks for the rest of my pregnancy. Each appointment was scarier than the one before as we were unsure what they were going to find or what they were looking for. At 28 weeks we were told that best case scenario would be dwarfism. We were told baby may not survive past 36 weeks and offered a termination. We kept positive and carried on.
Then our beautiful girl arrived on 12th December 2014, she was perfect and all in proportion. We left the hospital and no concerns were raised.
When she was 5 weeks old at a follow up X-ray we were in disbelief when they discovered our tiny girl had multiple fractures. She has a rare bone condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease). She had been so content and happy, it was hard to take in.
We continued to watch her grow and become such a little character and have tried to keep everything as normal as possible.
But sadly her femur fractured and our girl was admitted to hospital for 2 weeks, our baby girl was so brave and strong and is coping so well even though she was in lots of pain and was in traction so we couldnt pick her up for a cuddle. She was still smiling and giggling away.
We feel incredibly blessed to be the parents of such an amazing little girl, she makes us more proud every day and we love her so much!
Treatment starts in a few weeks to strengthen her bones so we are hopeful that this will avoid her having many more fractures in the future. She is going to have a very normal life but will just be a little more fragile. x x x"
Please just take a look on the URL and consider donating, Mila will get the love and support she needs, some children don't get that chance.
Thank you
